UNDERSTANDING ISLAMIC ETHICS: HOW WE KNOW RIGHT AND WRONG

In this unique two-day seminar and for the first time in the UK, Prof. Tariq Ramadan examines the traditional basis of Islamic ethics. Registered participants will be given a copy of the much anticipated new book Islamic Ethics: A Very Short Introduction (yet to be published in English) and will be provided opportunities to discuss ethical issues relevant to our times.

PROF. TARIQ RAMADAN

Tariq Ramadan is Professor of Contemporary Islamic Studies at Oxford University, teaching at the faculties of Oriental Studies and Theology & Religion. He is a Senior Research Fellow at St Antony’s College (Oxford) and Doshisha University (Kyoto, Japan); a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, (Qatar); Director of the Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE) (Doha, Qatar); President of the European Muslim Network (EMN) thinktank based in Brussels; and a member of the International Union of Muslim Scholars.
