Invitation Webinar: Genomics: the history, science and ethics

Following our first webinar in 2020 on genomics, Islamic ethics and public engagement, the Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE), a member of the College of Islamic Studies (CIS) in Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), is resuming the Genomie webinar series and invite you to join us.

It will be held on Sunday, 9th January 2022 at 1-3pm Doha time (10am-12pm GMT) via Webex Events.

For our next webinar, we will be joined by experts from science, the medical sciences, academia and religion who will share their insights on the history of the field of genomics, scientific applications and the potential of emerging developments and genomics futures. We will also survey the engagement of religious scholars and discuss ethical considerations in genomics.

Genomie is a public engagement initiative, facilitating conversations between experts and the public on developments in the field of genomics, and bringing these into dialogue with Islamic ethics. 

Genomie is part of the Qatar National Research Fund project GIEPE (Genomics, Islamic Ethics and Public Engagement).
