The Research Centre for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE), a member of Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies (QFIS) at the Hamad Bin Khalifa University, is hosting a specialised seminar on ethics and economics from today.

The 3-day seminar will discuss the objectives of financial institutions in the neo-liberal economic system, with participating scholars critically reviewing and evaluating the processes. They will also discuss the need for the neo-liberal economic framework to be reformed from within or the necessity of developing an alternative system.

Another topic in focus will be the main objectives of ‘Islamic finance’ in relation to the individual, society, state and global economy.
