[Update: video] Public Lecture on Family in the Age of Science

The Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE), a member of the Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies in Hamad Bin Khalifa University, is pleased to invite you to its public lecture entitled: “Family in the Age of Science: Ethical Challenges between Islam and Medicine, on October 7th, 2015, from7:00pm to 9:00 pm, in the auditorium of Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies’ New Building.

The panel addresses a number of the core ethical questions and challenges that the institution of the family will have to face, both today and in the near future. The panelists will discuss how people can strike a balance between what is "practically possible" from a biomedical perspective, and what is "mandatory" from an Islamic religious and ethical perspective.

The panelists are: Dr Tariq Ramadan, Executive Director of the research Center for Islamic Legislation & Ethics (CILE), Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies and Professor of Islamic Studies at Oxford University, UK; Dr Mohammed Ghaly, Professor of Islam and Biomedical Ethics, research Center for Islamic Legislation & Ethics (CILE), Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies and  Dr Ayman Shabana: Associate Research Professor at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in Qatar.

Please advise if the lecture will be in Arabic or English. is it open for females.

Dear Yasser, our lectures are open to everyone. Both Arabic / English will be provided.
