[Update: Scholarships available!] Register for CILE Istanbul Summer School 2018

In collaboration with Ibn Haldun University, the Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE), member of the College of Islamic Studies (CIS) in Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) is very pleased to host its 2018 Summer School Edition in Turkey. It will take place from the 30th of July to the 4th of August in Istanbul in sha Allah.

The overall theme of the summer school is:

Maslaha (Good/Benefit): Legal and Ethical Dimensions

with related subthemes such as Maslaha. An Introduction to a multi-faceted concept, Maslaha in Contemporary Islamic Discourse, and other concepts to be discussed in sessions throughout the five days.

This Summer School 2018 is the 8th, part of a series targeting English-speaking people (2017, 2016, 2015, 2014) together with French-speaking people (Côte d’Ivoire 2017, Niger 2015, Sénégal 2013).

From 30 July to 4 August 2018 in sha Allah.

In the premises of Ibn Haldun University in Istanbul, Turkey.

For Whom ?

There's no specific academic requirement. However, candidates should have a particular interest in Islamic studies in general.

How Much ?

700 US dollars including:

  • all courses
  • accommodation for the whole week at the Hampton by Hilton Istanbul Kayasehir (from 29 July to 5 August = total of 7 nights including the night before and after the last day of the Summer School)

Candidates must cover the costs of their own travel and transportation, other meals and other hospitality requirements.

How to register if I’m not a student of this university? The application forn asks for a card number that belongs to students. I’m a fresh graduate from Saudi Arabia.
