Vision

The Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE) envisions contributing to the realization of a more just and ethical world by renewing contemporary Fiqh, advancing Islamic ethical thought and practice, and developing sustainable frameworks to address contemporary challenges in Qatar and globally. The Center seeks to enable and inspire Muslims to reform their lived realities—both theoretically and practically—and to participate constructively in the global moral and ethical discourse from their respective doctrinal, ethical, and legal perspectives.

Mission

Guided by the fundamental principles of the Holy Qurʾān, the Sunnah, and the higher objectives of Islam (Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah), the Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE) is dedicated to the reform and renewal of Islamic legislative and ethical thought. It seeks to bring together scholars of the Text and scholars of context to produce, apply, and disseminate Islamic ethical research, and to develop contextualized readings that provide transformative methodological and theoretical frameworks for addressing contemporary ethical challenges.

Through this approach, the Center aims to cultivate an ethical seminary of knowledge and practice that engages with universal issues and contributes to the pursuit of a more just and ethical world. By fostering dialogue between classical and contemporary perspectives, CILE serves a diverse global audience of experts, practitioners, students, activists, and all those concerned with the advancement of Islamic ethics in the modern age.
